Publication Ethics
DAAR EL-MAKRIFAH: Journal of Islamic Religious Education is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Lembaga Penerbitan, Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LP3M) Institut Badri Mashduqi, Probolinggo, East Java, Indonesia. The journal is published regularly and available online. This publication ethics statement clarifies the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publishing process, including authors, Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board, peer reviewers, and the publisher. This statement is based on the principles of transparency, integrity, and best practices in scholarly publishing, referring to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
The publication of articles in this peer-reviewed journal contributes to the development of credible and accountable scientific knowledge, particularly in the field of Islamic Religious Education. Ethical standards are therefore essential to maintain academic integrity and public trust.
Duties of the Publisher
LP3M Institut Badri Mashduqi is committed to ensuring that all stages of the publication process are conducted ethically and professionally. The publisher guarantees that editorial decisions are independent and free from commercial or financial influence. The publisher also supports the Editorial Board in maintaining academic integrity and resolving ethical issues when necessary.
Duties of Editors
Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts are eligible for publication based solely on academic merit, originality, clarity, methodological validity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
Editors must:
Evaluate manuscripts fairly without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, or political beliefs.
Maintain confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts.
Avoid using unpublished materials for personal research without written consent from the author.
Ensure that each manuscript undergoes a fair peer-review process by qualified reviewers.
Take appropriate action in cases of plagiarism, ethical misconduct, or publication malpractice.
Duties of Reviewers
Peer reviewers assist editors in making publication decisions and improving manuscript quality.
Reviewers must:
Conduct reviews objectively and professionally.
Maintain confidentiality of manuscripts.
Decline review if unqualified or unable to complete it on time.
Identify relevant uncited works.
Avoid reviewing manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.
Not use unpublished information for personal advantage.
Duties of Authors
Authors must ensure that:
Their work is original and free from plagiarism.
Data presented are accurate and not fabricated or manipulated.
Sources are properly cited.
The manuscript is not submitted simultaneously to another journal.
All individuals who significantly contributed are listed as co-authors.
Any financial or other conflicts of interest are disclosed.
Significant errors discovered after publication are promptly reported to the editor.
Plagiarism Screening Policy
All manuscripts submitted to DAAR EL-MAKRIFAH: Journal of Islamic Religious Education will be screened for plagiarism using reliable plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with significant similarity or unethical citation practices will be rejected or returned for revision.
