Author Guideliness
General Information
DAAR EL-TAMKIN: Journal of Community Empowerment (DEJCE) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes original articles on community service (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat/PkM), community engagement, and community empowerment. Manuscripts submitted to the journal must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Manuscript Preparation
1. Language
Manuscripts may be written in:
- English (preferred); or
- Bahasa Indonesia.
Authors are encouraged to use clear, concise, and grammatically correct language.
2. Manuscript Length
The manuscript should contain 4,000–8,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.
3. Manuscript Format
- Paper size: A4 (21 cm × 29.7 cm)
- Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
- Font: Times New Roman
- Font size: 12 pt
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Paragraph: Justified
- Page numbers: Bottom center.
Manuscript Structure
A. Title
- Maximum 20 words.
- Concise and informative.
- Avoid abbreviations whenever possible.
Example:
Digital Literacy Training for Micro and Small Enterprises to Improve Business Sustainability in Rural Communities.
B. Author Information
Include:
- Full name of all authors;
- Institutional affiliation;
- ORCID ID (if available);
- Email address of the corresponding author.
C. Abstract
The abstract should be written in English and Bahasa Indonesia, consisting of 150–250 words and containing:
- Background;
- Objectives;
- Methods;
- Community service activities;
- Results and impacts;
- Conclusions.
Keywords: 3–5 keywords separated by semicolons (;).
D. Introduction
The introduction should contain:
- Background of community problems;
- Literature review and previous community service activities;
- Gap analysis;
- Objectives and novelty of the program;
- Expected outcomes and benefits.
E. Methods
The methods section should explain:
- Location and target community;
- Community empowerment approach;
- Stages of implementation;
- Techniques of data collection;
- Instruments used;
- Evaluation methods;
- Indicators of success.
F. Results and Discussion
This section should include:
- Description of community service activities;
- Program implementation process;
- Community participation;
- Results and impacts;
- Evaluation findings;
- Comparison with previous studies or similar programs;
- Sustainability and future recommendations.
Tables, figures, and photographs should be clearly presented and discussed.
G. Conclusion
The conclusion should:
- Answer the objectives of the community service program;
- Highlight the main impacts and contributions;
- Provide recommendations for future programs.
H. Acknowledgments
Acknowledgments may be addressed to:
- Funding institutions;
- Partner institutions;
- Community groups;
- Individuals contributing significantly to the program.
I. Funding Statement
Authors should disclose the source of funding, if any.
Example:
"This community service activity was funded by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of Indonesia under the Community Service Grant Scheme 2026."
J. Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
Example:
"The authors declare no conflict of interest."
K. References
- References should primarily consist of publications from the last five years.
- At least 80% of references should come from scientific journals.
- Use reference management software such as:
- Mendeley
- Zotero
- EndNote
- Citation style: APA 7th Edition.
Tables and Figures
Tables
- Number tables consecutively.
- Provide table titles above the table.
Figures
- Number figures consecutively.
- Provide figure captions below the figure.
- Ensure image resolution is at least 300 dpi.
Ethical Requirements
Authors must ensure that:
- The manuscript is original and free from plagiarism.
- The manuscript is not under review by another journal.
- All authors have approved the submitted version.
- Community participants' confidentiality and privacy are protected.
- Necessary permissions and informed consent have been obtained.
